Tread Lightly...

but not in this business.

You’re in the financial education industry, thousands of voices saying “listen to me I have the answer” and if you decide the “lightly” part fits you… well so be it, but your results might correspond properly.

Welcome to entrepreneurship, the land of the free, unlimited opportunity to those who take true ownership and the few whom experience it. If you haven’t taken chances or given yourself permission to tread wherever you wish maybe its time you change your game plan?

Might as well panic

I'm sharing with you another post from my favorite freelance marketer, Seth Godin. Check him out here.
Enjoy!

If you don't know what to do, and you're frightened, might as well panic.

That seems to be the first rule of being a member of the human race. Apparently, panicking is an acceptable substitute for forethought, contingency planning or actually taking productive action. We almost want to blame the thing we're anxious about on the person who isn't planning. "Don't you care! Can't you see that we're all gonna die! That we're going to go bankrupt? That the world as we know it is going to end?"

More people are killed by deer than sharks, but you don't see park rangers running around like nutcases.

There's huge pressure on our leaders and co-workers and institutions to panic. If for no other reason, we say, they should panic as a sign that they care, that they are taking things seriously.

A while ago, I said that the devil doesn't need an advocate.

Let me add to this: we have enough caution. We don't need an abundance of caution. That's too much.

Perfection

You’re in a numbers game environment with direct sales/network marketing, the person who creates the most leads per day wins (online and offline). It is important that you can “convert” these leads into effective prospects to move through your system but never lose sight of the goal. Effective action trumps perfection. I would go as far as to say ineffective action trumps perfection (especially when just getting started). I challenge you to put yourself out there and make plenty of mistakes along the way. This may be a completely new experience marketing online or offline, but don’t let your need to be perfect sabotage getting started.

Five typos in your press release won’t kill your chances of generating leads, but spending five hours on it definitely will.

:`: Don’t even ask yourself this question unless you are going to be completely honest. :`:

How many activities do you waste time on “working your business” when it has absolutely nothing to do with building your pipeline and exposing others to this awesome opportunity?

Sure you’re new and this is new to you, but use this equation for your time: 20% Learning (Building capture pages/understanding online marketing/system) -- 80% Doing (Getting your message out/communicating with your prospects through the system). I can almost guarantee you that if your time is spent any other way you are playing the perfection game and I know from personal experience – that game doesn’t pay well.

Chill

I always get so caught up in what project I’m working on, the next 2 projects after I finish this one, not to mention… all the things I’ve been putting off that need to get done and finding a way to get them all completed! EXHAUSTING!

Do as I’m doing right now, and take a quick step back (how about a deep breath too) and remind yourself to stop living ahead of the present and start living now. People often miss the biggest opportunities because they are completely absorbed in the future (which doesn’t even exist!) and miss everything that’s happening RIGHT NOW.

AND while you’re at it, give yourself a damn pat on the back… You’re long over due and you definitely deserve it.

Decide

Most people can’t, so they become victims to chance and it’s sometimes harsh circumstances. Those that can, however, seem to be abnormally “lucky” and despite chance get their way more often than not. There is a hidden magic in a decision because a “true decision” transcends logic, odds, and sometimes reality itself. The suppressed truth, that we don’t hear nearly enough of, is that we are absolutely much more powerful than we realize.

Being a Consultant with Wealth Masters International means you are literally one decision away from creating the kind of financial freedom that most only achieve in their wildest dreams.

Sounds easy!

Don’t be fooled by thinking that if you “say” you’re committed and that you’ve decided to become successful in this business that you’re actually making progress. I’m not doubting the power of the spoken word, but anyone who’s made a homemade pizza before knows you need more than just dough to get the job done (unless you’re content with just eating the crust right?!).

A real decision takes many ingredients to make it powerful. Of these ingredients I would say that action beyond all others is the most important. Sure you can say you will lose weight/get healthy, but how many times have you gone to the gym this week? What did your shopping cart look like at the grocery store? Uh, how about the midnight snack last night?

Start today and make some important decisions:

What monetary results (BE SPECIFIC) you will make from your business and when (put a date to it).

What qualities or skills do you not have that you wish you did? Write down two (2) main qualities and start educating yourself on how you can grow in that respective area… ACT on what you learn even if it’s small. (Leadership, learning how to ask effective questions, sales skills, offline marketing strategies, google adwords, writing an effective press release… ect – there are many areas to grow in that will greatly increase your bank account – pick 2)

Who do you associate with? Maybe you’re hanging around the wrong people – do you need a new circle of influence?

Start to decide in your life and you’ll never look at the circumstances that create “chance” or “luck” the same EVER again.
